BMS / Building Automation Engineers for Datacenter Projects

We are recruiting experienced Building Automation / BMS Commissioning Engineers for our international client's datacenter projects in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

In this role, you will work across multiple datacenter construction sites and be responsible for the commissioning, testing, validation, and delivery of Building Management Systems (BMS). You will collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure systems are installed, configured, tested, and handed over according to project requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.

The position offers the opportunity to work on a technically challenging and high-profile project within a growing industry.

The assignment starts ASAP and is expected to continue for approximately 12 months.

The successful candidate can be employed under a fixed-term employment contract or engaged through a contractor agreement, depending on their situation and preferences.

Key responsibilities:

• Review project specifications, designs, and commissioning requirements

• Support the planning and delivery of BMS commissioning activities

• Configure, load, test, and commission BMS controllers, software, and network-level systems

• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and system validation activities

• Troubleshoot commissioning issues and coordinate corrective actions with project teams and subcontractors

• Verify system functionality, control sequences, and integration with HVAC and related systems

• Maintain commissioning records, test documentation, and handover documentation

• Coordinate commissioning activities with M&E contractors and project stakeholders

• Support BMS software modifications, graphics development, and network commissioning activities when required

• Ensure compliance with project, quality, HSE, and electrical safety requirements

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree, vocational qualification, or equivalent education in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronics, or a related field

• Previous experience in BMS, building automation, commissioning, or control system projects

• Experience commissioning controllers, field devices, and automation systems

• Good understanding of HVAC systems and building automation technologies

• Experience with BMS platforms such as Metasys, EasyIO, Tridium Niagara, Trend, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar systems

• Experience creating and modifying BMS graphics, workstation configuration, and network commissioning is considered an advantage

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and control systems

• Experience with troubleshooting, testing, and system validation

• Good understanding of construction site HSE requirements

• Good written and spoken English communication skills

• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between project sites within the Helsinki Metropolitan Area

• Valid right to work in Finland

• Valid Occupational Safety Card and Electrical Safety Card

Previous experience in datacenter commissioning projects will be considered a strong advantage. We also value experience from large-scale construction projects, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and other technically demanding environments. Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs), HVAC controls, industrial communication protocols, and building automation software will further support success in this role. A valid driving licence is considered beneficial.

Details:

The position is based in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area across multiple datacenter construction sites. The assignment starts ASAP and will last approximately 12 months.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
