AM NOOK IS HIRING - KITCHEN STAFF

Am Nook - Asian Kitchen in Vaasa is looking for a Kitchen Staff member to join our team.

Location: Silmukkatie 21, 65100 Vaasa

Working hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 08:00 to 14:00/15:00

Starting date: as soon as possible

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and cook lunch dishes according to recipes and kitchen standards.

• Handle both the hot kitchen and salad bar.

• Prepare poke bowls, toppings, vegetables and sauces.

• Manage several tasks at the same time during busy lunch service.

• Organize preparation and cooking efficiently so everything is ready on time.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

• Follow food safety and temperature control procedures.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

• Speaks English confidently.

• Is fast, organized, responsible and careful with food preparation.

• Has strong time management skills and can work according to a tight kitchen schedule.

• Can handle multiple tasks independently and knows how to prioritize tasks.

• Has good cooking knowledge and understands how different ingredients should be prepared and cooked.

• Pays close attention to cooking temperature, meat doneness and food texture.

• Understands the importance of consistent food quality.

• Knows how to avoid overcooking or undercooking meat and other ingredients.

• Can properly control cooking time and temperature, especially when preparing meat and hot dishes.

• Has knowledge or experience with poke bowls.

• Has knowledge of Japanese and Korean sauces and flavours.

• Can work comfortably with both cold preparation and hot kitchen tasks.

• Has a valid Hygiene Passport.

• Has a valid Salmonella test or certificate.

• Is available to start as soon as possible

Previous experience in an Asian restaurant or professional kitchen is an advantage.
