Network Architect

Are you an experienced network professional with a strong architectural mindset and passion for secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions?

We are looking for a Network Architect to take responsibility for the design, implementation, and strategic development of Outokumpus global network infrastructure.

In this role, you will ensure that our network solutions are aligned with business objectives, security standards, and future technology needs. You will provide technical guidance across network technologies and support both operational activities and transformation initiatives. As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the overall view of Outokumpus network architecture, covering areas such as LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewalls, external access, IP services, and cloud connectivity.

You will work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, partners, and projects to define target architecture, guide solution design, and ensure that global network standards and technologies are followed.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain the current Network Architecture view, covering LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewalls, external access, and IP services

• Define network standards, policies, and best practices

• Create, maintain, and drive short-term and long-term network roadmaps aligned with IT and business needs

• Develop and uphold the target Outokumpu Network Architecture, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities

• Support key partners in designing and implementing network solutions

• Guide IT programmes and projects towards the agreed target architecture

• Define and maintain consistent processes to ensure global technologies and standards are followed

• Identify and evaluate new technologies and innovations in the network market

• Own network documentation and develop processes for its review and lifecycle management

• Ensure network designs comply with security standards and regulatory requirements

• Design network solutions across cloud platforms

We are looking for a candidate with strong technical expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical, secure, and cost-effective solutions.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• More than 7 years of experience in network technologies, solutions, and security

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

• In-depth knowledge of networking and network security concepts, protocols, and technologies

• Experience with traditional and cloud computing environments, including legacy technologies

• Experience with Microsoft Azure is considered an advantage

• Understanding of industry-specific production and OT environments

• Experience with Palo Alto and Aruba hardware and tools

• Ability to translate business requirements into cost-effective technical solutions

• Experience with Enterprise Architecture processes and tools

• Strong conceptual, functional, and technical skills

• Willingness and flexibility to travel based on business needs
