Project Engineer, ABB Marine & Ports

We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join ABB Marine & Ports and support the delivery of advanced marine electrical, propulsion, and control system projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career engineer who wants to develop technical expertise within a global engineering organization and gain hands-on experience in international delivery projects.

Your responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you will:

• Support Lead Engineers in delivery project engineering and design activities
• Assist in technical problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and related engineering activities
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on system integration and troubleshooting
• Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes and ways of working
• Support project teams in ensuring successful project execution and delivery

You will have the opportunity to work with systems such as:

• Generators
• Main switchboards and power distribution systems
• Transformers
• Converters and drives
• Propulsion Control Systems (PCS)
• Remote Control Systems (RCS)
• Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems
• Marine automation and control systems

What we are looking for

To succeed in this role, we hope you have:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in an international project environment
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Interest in electrical systems, automation, and engineering projects

Considered an advantage

• Familiarity with EPLAN or other electrical design tools
• Knowledge of IEC or IEEE standards
• Previous project, internship, or thesis experience related to electrical engineering or automation
• Interest in marine technology and power systems
